This idea came from a friend of mine that did a full day of drawing something every hour! It seemed like an exciting challenge, so I took a leaf out of her book, and did the same with writing! Turns out it was more fun than I first thought! So without further ado, here is my first attempt at such a day!
10:00 am
I woke this morning on the couch, as my son had woken me at 5 AM and Grandma Lee had let me lay back down for a while. My hand is still hurting something terrible due to the cyst removal in my right ring finger yesterday. I immediately got up, took some medicine for the pain and the swelling and went to help change my son. I can’t do it myself, but I can sit and help! Once he was changed, he went down for a nap.

11:00 am
The past hour has been somewhat uneventful. I have been
watching television and contemplating what to do with my goals. Working on the
chapter story each week is going to be my more challenging task. It’s tough to
decide what to begin with as a storyline. Perhaps I will turn to my writing
prompts from one of my best friends. I may also use them for the rest of my
day’s paragraphs!
12:00 pm
Lunch was simple: buttered noodles with cheese and apple
slices. David wouldn’t stop putting his feet on the table, and Grandpa’s
giggling didn’t help matters. David, of course, thinks it’s funny! He even
stole the best part of the oreo when I tried to give him a bite of one of mine!
So not fair! I gave him a bite and he made off with the half that had all the
icing and left me with the plain cookie!
1:00 pm
I FINALLY NABBED AN EYE OF ENDER!!! So much excitement!!
Dang endermen wouldn’t give me their eyeballs! Now I can try to find an
underground abandoned mineshaft! I’m so dang excited about it! But alas, I must
wait, for it seems everyone is dispersing for other things. I shall persevere!
It was pretty epic, my enderman death-dealing. I came up out of my little mine,
where I had just found a monster spawner and killed it, and Robbie was awaiting
me at my house. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted the enderman’s creepy
eyes and dashed off to take him out. A creeper tried to get the best of me on
my way but Robbie took him down! I got to the enderman and began beating at his
legs with my iron sword and suddenly with a poof of sparkly purple smoke there
sat the eye of ender!
2:00 pm
I am now going to pop open my writing prompt jar from Anna!
And my first writing prompt is… "Imagine a cave. It's dark and damp, but
there is a light up ahead. What could it be?" Well, my first thought is
‘oh shit I’m dead’. But, upon further reflection, it could be one of many
things. In minecraft it’s most likely to be lava. In real life it’s most likely
to be the opening and escape route. But in my bizarre mind, I would have to
say… It’s got to be the entrance to a forbidden land where no one is allowed to
wear clothing and has to speak in a British accent! Much like Narnia, only
nude. And awkward.
3:00 pm
Children and injuries make it very hard to be able to do
anything. So does a busted hand. It’s depressing that I can’t do anything. I
can’t take care of David because it requires two hands, I can’t drive, I can’t
go anywhere because I don’t have a babysitter. So I am stuck sitting around,
typing. It sucks. I can’t be useful nor can I have fun.
4:00 pm
I spent the last hour sleeping. I was so exhausted and cold
and just needed a nap. It was a good nap. The kind that refreshes you when you
need something to pick you up from a slump. My adoring son woke me from my nap
by climbing all over my head, and his Daddy decided we were going out after
all!
5:00 pm
We finally made it out of the house and I started feeling
icky, with more pain embedding itself in my hand. We stopped for gas and
figured out where we were going. We ended up going to a “nickel-cade”, which
was highly amusing, even though half the games were broken.
6:00 pm
We spent a lot of nickels! Who knew you could get so many
nickels for just five dollars?? There was so much laughing and carrying-on that
I never felt slumpy at all. A little tired and weird from the pain medication,
but I was a happy camper! I even ate a pretzel!
7:00 pm
We still have forty minutes until our movie starts, so I
tried to buy more nickels, but since I used my prepaid card to get gas, it put
a hold on ALL of my money until the gas comes out! So we were unable to get
more nickels! So irritating! But we will keep going and get some prizes with
all the tickets we won!
8:00 pm-10:00 pm
We went to the theatre and saw Wreck-It Ralph! Funny little
movie! It had so many jokes and a cute storyline. It also had a lot of hints as
well as all out showcasing of many different video games, old and new. It made
for an excellent double date. I enjoy double dates, they make things more
interesting. We then went to Denny’s and had some interesting conversations and
jokes then as well! By then I was so tired and groggy I barely remembered I was
on a date!
11:00 pm
We stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. It’s very
messy and crowded at night. There are boxes and pallets and people all over the
store! We got in and out fairly fast though, we didn’t need much. We are all
super tired and ready for bed!
12:00 am
Well this is the end of my paragraph an hour day! I hope to
do this more often! This has made things so interesting, and has given me a lot
to think about! Hopefully it will also help me get on track with all of my
writing goals and help me to complete more things that I begin. I am also
looking forward to planning things with one of my close friends, Josephine. She’s
a great inspiration of mine, and I hope to learn more from her and hopefully
teach her something new as well, in return! I am also hoping to do some more
things involving writing with my friend Anna, who has always been a sort of
muse to me. She’s super creative and it always brings a smile to my face!
